What are we doing? Math: Test Thursday, Next week we begin multiplying and dividing fractions. Writing: Opinion writing Reading: Nonfiction book clubs and nonfiction text structure Science: Reviewing for and taking planet test, learning about Planet 9 Social Studies: Choosing one person to study for Stamp on History project, learning about Civil Rights and Malala Yousafzai Health: Small groups teaching the class Energy Shifters Spelling List: Root words geology, thermometer, astronaut, atmosphere, biology, thermal, disaster, meteorology, technology, hemisphere	Upcoming Dates: 1/29- Winter Carnival at        Lewis School 5-6:30pm 2/1- Parent/Teacher Conferences 8:30am-3:00pm 2/2- Parent/Teacher         Conferences 5-8 PM   2/3-Parent/Teacher         Conferences 5-8 PM 2/15- No school (President’s Day) 2/22- Black History Month presentation at CMS, 6-7pm 3/14-3/18- Spring Break
Notes from the Teachers *BOOK FAIR starts Friday at the winter carnival, and will be every morning next week. It will also be open during parent/teacher conferences. *On January 29 Lewis School will have a Winter Carnival! A dinner of a hot dog, chili, chips, cake, and lemonade will be available from 5-6:30pm for $4 a plate. Games will be from 5:30-6:30pm for 25¢ each. Please support Lewis School by attending this fundraiser! *Parent/Teacher Conference times have been sent home as we have received requests.  If you have questions about your time, or would still like to schedule a conference, please let us know. * Popcorn is sold every Friday for 25¢. * Mrs. Liss is almost out of pencils. If you are able to donate any it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
